My love of motorsport and Japan combine in this large scale map of all the road race circuits in Japan. The first challenge was to find all the circuits and then map their layout. Next I faced struggle of the bidirectional lookup. Usually maps struggle with finding an object from a legend and after consulting Tufte and other maps, I realised a different direction was need. I used the nation's flows from the North-East to the South-West as a dividing line with two sets of identifiers (1-28 for the North, A-Z for the south) so that you can quickly find a given track from its layout or the map itself.
